Include Annapolis’ September First Sunday Arts Festival … In your Labor Day Holiday Plans!
In September your summer activities begin to wind down as you realize that vacations are over and the daylight hours are getting shorter even though the thermometer is still reading high temperatures! But wait summer can’t end before we all celebrate one more landmark holiday: Labor Day! And this year, Annapolis’ First Sunday Art Festival falls right in the middle of the Labor Day Holiday weekend on September 5th.
If you are in or near Annapolis, plan on making this outdoor, fun Art Festival part of your holiday plans. First Sunday is a festival that celebrates many forms of art – with live music, entertainment, and over 90 booths of art, jewelry, house wares, accessories and so much more. It is a fun-filled, outdoor, free, family affair for all ages. And since West Street is closed to cars from Church Circle to Calvert Street during the Festival, several restaurants become outdoor cafes with perfect seating to watch the fun and people go by!
The Festival fun begins at noon and goes until 5:00 p.m. – a full day of fun for everyone in your family. Live Entertainment on West Street … ·
Studio 180 — will perform aerial dance routines from noon to 5:00 p.m. in Stan and Joe’s side lot. This is a studio of many dance disciplines from ballet and tap to aerial. ·
Jeff Antoniuk’s Jazz Band — will play from noon until 3:00 p.m. in Wiseman Park. Saxophonist Jeff Antoniuk is an internationally respected jazz musician and composer. ·
Bay Jazz Project — will perform from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. in Wiseman Park. Talented musicians that play it all – jazz standards, Latin swing, R&B, Dixieland and more.
